Deta 1113 Smoke Alarm Optical/Photoelectric Mains / 9V Battery Back Up

Optical ( sometimes known as “Photoelectric”) technology is generally more sensitive than ionisation technology at detecting large particles of smoke, which tend to be produced in greater amounts by “slow” fires, which may smoulder for hours before bursting into flames. Sources of these fires may include cigarettes burning in bedding or furniture. It is generally accepted that an ideal arrangement for smoke and fire detection in the average home is that an Optical Alarm should be fitted in the Lounge, a Heat Alarm should be fitted in the Kitchen and Utility, and Ionisation type should be fitted at the top of the stairwell and between all sleeping areas. They should all be interconnected so that if one units activates all alarms sound at the same time. We sell all of these models. Please click here then the link for “Smoke and Heat Alarms” in our shop to see all the listings. If you ever smoke in bed (we wouldn’t recommend it on health and safety grounds!) you should install an Optical in that room as well). This is only general advice and you should consult your local Fire Service for detailed recommendations.
